Wines of the Month
This month we're getting ready for Chinese New Year! We've picked out some wines that would be perfect for the occassion, whether drank on it's own or paired with some classic CNY goodies!
The difficulty with Chinese New Year is that dishes are served simultaneously, so pairing with various flavour profiles is the major challenge. While there's of course better paired wines with each dish, the common trait of a lot of Chinese New Year dishes is sweetness and umami. Dried goods like scallops and fish maw, as well as abalone, create dishes with both components
Hence, we're looking for wines that have generally low tannins, higher acidity, and slight sweetness, across sparkling, whites and reds!
