Description

Bouchard Finlayson Galpin Peak Pinot Noir 2018 Magnum

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir. The Hemel-en-Aarde Valley represents that unique combination of soil and climate that exists in only a handful of places where the exact balance provides the perfect expression of this elusive grape.

Taste Profile: It is classically old world, velvety, with a rich fruity expression. This outstanding Pinot Noir has flavours of dark cherry, wild berry, espresso and cinnamon spice, ending in a long earthy finish. It is a wine that has great aging potential under optimal cellar conditions.

Winemaking Process: The use of whole grape bunches or clusters during fermentation, is a much discussed subject, as it plays a significant role in the general feel, as well as the aromatic composition of the eventual wine. A portion of the fruit was not destemmed. Following an average of 21 days on skin, the wines were delicately pressed and barrelled down to French oak for 11months maturation.
