The Capitol Cask Strength Single Malt

The English Whisky Co. is England’s oldest whisky distillery. Founded by the Nelstrop family in 2006, The English Whisky Co. built the beautiful St George’s Distillery specifically to make the very finest whiskies.

This exclusive expression draws inspiration from The Capitol Building, an enduring icon at the crossroads of North Bridge Road and Stamford Road. Once known as Namazie Mansions and later the Shaws Building, this neo-classical masterpiece made history with its air-conditioned theatre in the 1930s and was gazetted for preservation in 1983. Today, The Capitol Kempinski Hotel stands as a symbol of timeless elegance, housing luxury accommodations and world-class dining.

Tasting Notes

Nose : Rich plum, burnt toffee, stem ginger, stewed orchard fruits, smouldering oak, and dark chocolate.

Palate : Bold cherry, bitter chocolate, burnt caramel, and a whisper of smoke, evolving into a medium-long, dry finish.

With Water : A delightful sweetness emerges, unveiling notes of toffee, digestive biscuits, and red cherries.

Comes from first fill Burgundy European Oak casks, with approximately 15 years of barrel ageing

This 2024 release, limited to just 247 bottles, is a rare and refined masterpiece. Bottled at 55% ABV in a 700ml format, it stands as a testament to the artistry of whisky making, weaving together flavors as intricate and rich as Singapore’s storied past.
