Grape Varietals & Region: The Herawingert has been one of the most important vineyards in the Rhine River Valley for 1,000 years. At the foot of the great mountain ranges, mineral and powerful Pinot family wines ripen on the expressive slate and limestone soils. The venerable age of the vines brings low yields of characteristic quality.
Taste Profile: Dissolution - everything melts here, melts, dissolves in good pleasure: the bright yellow-orange fruit tender as butter, that is a solution - in two senses: what harmony, and what a light calm, nothing complains here anymore, that is simply fulfilled peace. On the palate, this delicate, harmonious flow again, without edges, everything dissolves again, an acidity like silk, supple like a solution, in which all the nutty and darker, mineral notes make the whole thing tangible in the first place! This Chardonnay has karma. That is peace, that is happiness.
Winemaking Process: Selective reading by hand. Whole grape pressing, cool maceration and fermentation in wooden tanks as well as aging in partly used and new 500l oak barrels.
From the limestone character of Sancerre to the green, herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc of Marlborough, this style group often shows off cut grass and wet stone. Often associated with coastal regions or limestone based terroir, these wines are characterised with crisp acidity, mineraiity, citrus tones, with a hint of grassiness
WINES FROM UNIQUE REGIONS & BOUTIQUE WINERIES
Founded in 2019, we were bored with the typical Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Amarone & Moscato offerings at most bars & restaurants, and were inspired to dive deeper into the wine world!
