As a tribute to her children, Maria Marais, resourceful & feisty young widow, personally created & placed six flowers representing her five children & herself in the Manor House's gables. Still relevant today, these six flowers represent the current generation's restoration of Renosterveld vegetation that was common among the vineyards in the 1800s
Grape Varietals & Region: Six Flowers is a unique blend of six different grape varietals, each contributing its own distinctive character to the wine. 30% Chardonnay, 25% Chenin Blanc, 22% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Viognier, 7% Weisser Riesling & 6% Gewurtztraminer. The grapes are sourced from the esteemed Neethlingshof Estate located in Stellenbosch, with vines aged between 10-30 years.
Taste Profile: Six Flowers is a complex and harmonious wine that balances the flavors of its diverse grape varietals. Pale lemon color with aromas of melon, pear, lavender, and a hint of toast. Well-textured & broad with notes of peach, pear, asparagus, orange marmalade & vanilla. This flavour bomb matched with textured drinkability makes for a long oak driven finish.
Winemaking Process: The grapes for Six Flowers are carefully selected and hand-harvested to ensure optimal ripeness and quality. Initial fermentation starts in tanks, and varietals are matured in French oak barrels for 3 months before blending at bottling.
