Locos por el Vino

A project by 3 winemakers to create 3 fantastic wines from Campo de Borja, from various vineyards across Huecha & Moncayo. A symbol of experience and a veteran status

Description

Locos por el Vino Gruñón 2017

Grape Varietals & Region: In the Altos del Moncayo, in the D.O. Campo de Borja (northwest of Aragón), Miguel Sanmartín, Sergio Chueca and Chris Ringland began working together to produce this blend of Garnacha and Syrah from young vineyards (located in the highest areas).

While the Syrah is grown on the terraces of the Huecha Valley (with stony soils and boulders), the Garnacha is grown on the slopes of the Moncayo, on clay and slate soils.

Taste Profile: A smooth, deep purple coloured, very high layer red wine. The nose is intense and complex, with aromas of ripe black fruit, blackberries, prunes and black liquorice. The palate is powerful, with sweet and creamy tannins, round, with a long and silky finish.

WInemaking Process: Each varietal is vinified separately, undergoing cold maceration and then fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Upon maturation, wine is blended & bottled
