The Foreign Affair Winery Petit Verdot 2016

Grape Varietals & Region: Petit Verdot 86%, Cabernet Franc 14%
from a mix of vineyards across Twenty-Mile Bench & their estate's vineyards.

Taste Profile: The nose is layered with aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry preserves, fresh blueberry, licorice, and violet. The palate has intense flavours of cherry, blackberry, blueberry and dark plum. Great balance between the fruit flavours, acidity, tannin, and oak

Winemaking Process: The appassimento portion of Cabernet Franc (14%) and Petit Verdot (8%) had a drying period of 100 days before being pressed. The wine was aged in French and American oak barrels for 18 months

Shouldered & Powerful Reds

Powerful modern reds with the ability to age. They tend to be very intense, with ripe fruit, firm tannins & drinkability either young or cellared.

They often have notes of forest floor, blackcurrant, mint & eucalyptus
