Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Chardonnay grown on clay-limestone soils in the premier cru En Remilly appelation of Chassagne Montrachet in Burgundy, France. The vines are planted in 1960 & 1989
The appellation is a small parcel cultivated by just 6 producers, right next to the Chevalier-Motrachet grand cru. It sits at the crossroads of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet & Saint-Aubin
Taste Profile: Elegant, clean and precise with exceptional balance. A true reflection of its terroir with mineral notes and excellent aging potential.
Subtle tropical note on the nose, a little more "richesse" than Bruno's other premier crus, with hints of mango and tangerine coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with coconut, quince and apricot – certainly the most exotic of the Chassagne premier crus with a long, joyful finish. This will be the kind of Chassagne you glug away far too quickly.
Winemaking Process: The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, of which are 20% new, and spends 4-6 months in vats before bottling
From the limestone character of Sancerre to the green, herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc of Marlborough, this style group often shows off cut grass and wet stone. Often associated with coastal regions or limestone based terroir, these wines are characterised with crisp acidity, mineraiity, citrus tones, with a hint of grassiness
