In November we got to meet the legendary winemaker Telmo Rodriguez! We had a taste of range of wines and was blown away by the Gazur 2017 series. However, our biggest surprise of the afternoon was something else completely unexpected.. find out what it is below!
As to the bottle we were completely blown away by - It is the Sierras De Malaga Mountain Blanco 2014. We were surprised by the uniqueness of Mountain Blanco. Notes of pineapple and a burst of fruity and complex flavours (hints of bay leaf). Telmo Rodriguez himself explained to us that it was never an intention to create a dry white using Moscatel (Muscat) grapes. The grapes were originally meant for making their Compañia de Vinos Molino real Mountain wine. Lucky for the wine world, he decided to produce 'Mountain Blanco' after trying out the first batch using their 2nd choice grapes!
We can't wait to share more wine tasting sessions with you guys! If there are any wines that catches your eye feel free to give us a shout out! You'll never know, they may make it to our marketplace.
P.S. The snacks at Ce La Vi (we met Telmo Rodriguez here) were the bomb. Look out for the Boneless Korean Fried Chicken Wings
