Grape Varietals & Origin: Riesling is the leading grape in the old vineyards on karlsberg. The Ripeness, the precise interplay between acidity and fruitiness, as well as the complex aromatics make this reserve a timeless wine embodying the freshness of the vintage.
Taste Profile: Saturated yellow-green with playful golden reflexes. Fine aromatics of wild stone fruit, citrus and hints of tropical fruit and orange blossoms. On the palate rich and complex, multi layered with great elegance. Vibrant acidity and salty minerality. Great balance and ageing potential.
Winemaking Process: Entirely healthy, selected grapes with high acid structure, traditional vinification with certain oxygenation, partly in new 500 litre tonneaus, careful elevation on the fine lees in the century-old barrel cellars. Limited release.
Succulent stonefruit with a citrus backbone characterises these wines. Typically, they have notes of tropical fruit, and come from warmer climates. A touch of oak during the winemaking process also helps to give some softness to the wine.
