Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Tinta Barroca from the Swartland region of South Africa. The fruit comes from vines aged over 45 years old planted in decomposed granite and sandstone soils along the old railway line, which is where the name Treinspoor comes from
Taste Profile: A smooth red wine with aromas of red fruits, mineral notes and spicy touches. On the palate it is elegant and flavoursome with a sharp tannic structure. On the palate it reveals a tasty flavour of cake with delicate touches of tobacco
Winemaking Process: Macerated and ferment spontaneously with native yeasts with 50% whole cluster. Then the wine ages for 12 months in French oak barrels and 3 months in tanks. When it is ready, the wine is bottled without refining or filtering.
From Barolo to Bordeaux, these wines are steeped in tradition. The style covers a broad spectrum of flavor profiles, but tend to be elegant and structured and can be cellared for a long time.
These wines often have savoury tones of earth, bell pepper, tobacco, cassis, and are often medium to full bodied, with long finish & structured palattes
WINES FROM UNIQUE REGIONS & BOUTIQUE WINERIES
Founded in 2019, we were bored with the typical Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Amarone & Moscato offerings at most bars & restaurants, and were inspired to dive deeper into the wine world!
