Description
Rupert & Rothschild Classique 2019 is a Bordeaux-style blend from South Africa, made with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, and 6% Cabernet Franc grapes. This wine is a deep, ruby red color and has aromas of dark berries, plums, and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a well-structured tannin profile and a long finish. The wine spent 16 months aging in French oak barrels, adding a subtle touch of oak to the flavor profile.
The grapes for this wine were hand-harvested and carefully selected to ensure only the best grapes were used. The wine was fermented using indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, where it underwent maceration and pump-overs to extract color, flavor, and tannins. The wine was then aged in French oak barrels for 16 months, where it underwent malolactic fermentation, adding a creamy texture to the wine.
