Description
Aurora Cabernet Franc 2017
Aurora Cabernet Franc is a wine with altitude. Deep ruby colour. Raspberry and red cherry nose that extends into a gratifying mid-palate of toasted walnuts and caramel notes. Velvety mouthfeel with soft tannins and a long, lasting complex finish.
100% Cabernet Franc. The fruit for this wine comes from vineyards grown at three different stages, in two parcels, both in the village Aoura at 850 metres altitude. On the mountain facing the Mediterranean, these terraces were built in 2009 and 2012. The vineyards are dry farmed and have typically clay and limestone soils.
Careful handpicking of the grapes in the beginning of September. Following the initial fermentation, the wine ages in oak barrels (30% new and mainly American with a few French) for 12 months before bottling.
