Morgado do Quintao Clarete 2020
While the wine resembles a light red or dark rosé, Clarete is a distinctive winemaking style that is made in a way that’s not quite either. Clarete is a blend of red and white grapes. The grapes tend to be grown on old vines, and the juice is co-fermented on its skins like a traditional red wine
If you're a fan of chillable reds, skin-contact whites, and gushy styles, this is one for you!
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Negra Mole from Algarve, Portugal
Taste Profile: Clarete is the purest expression of Algarve’s terroir. Made from Negramole, Algarve’s signature grape, it’s a light wine but full of complexity and elegant tanins. Expect bright notes of raspberry & unripe peaches, as well as pomegranate
Winemaking Process: Harvested by hand into small 20kg crates, crushed manually by foot and macerated for 5 days pre ferment. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 6 months.
