Don Melchor 2020

Concha y Toro’s Don Melchor 2020 brand has added another accolade to its consistent trajectory. In his latest report, prominent wine critic James Suckling gave the Don Melchor 2019 vintage a 98-point score after tasting over 1,000 wines from Chile. “Very scented and aromatic with black currant, sweet tobacco, and a Spanish cedar character. Full-bodied with ultra-fine tannins give it structure on the palate and bring fruit and other flavors for a lasting finish. More refined than the perfect 2018 and almost as convincing,” details Suckling.

This recognition reaffirms the solid trajectory already carved by Chile’s first iconic wine. Don Melchor’s 2019, 2018, and 2017 vintages have the three highest scores ever given by James Suckling to a bottle of Chilean wine.

Marqus de Casa Concha Heritage 2021

Grape Varietals & Region: 75 Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, from El mariscal Vineyard, Puente Alto, Maipo Valley.

Taste Profile: A deep, dark red colour. Great aromatic intensity with upfront notes of juicy cherries, cassis, cedar, blackberries, black tar and fresh tobacco. The mouth is highly concentrated with a silky-smooth texture and firm tannins, which become apparent at the start of the long finish

WInemaking Process: Destemmed & crushed after selection, fermentation takes place in closed stainless steel tanks with daily pumpover for about 10 days. The wine is then kept on skins for another 10 days before being racked and undergoing spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, of which 35% new.
