Description
Barbeito Single Harvest 2008 Medium Dry is a remarkable fortified wine from the esteemed Madeira producer, Barbeito. This wine showcases the artistry and dedication of the winemakers, resulting in a dry Madeira of exceptional quality and character.
Grape Varietals & Region: Barbeito Single Harvest 2008 Medium Dry is crafted primarily from the Tinta Negra grape variety, which is prominent in Madeira. Grapes from a single vineyard located in Estreito de Câmara de lobos in the south coast of Madeira Island.
Taste Profile: Light gold. Aroma of crystallized fruits, yellow fruit jam, dried flower, ripe citrus and pistachio. Delicate honeyed palate, nice balanced acidity, long and fresh finish. Excellent as an aperitif. Accompanies well olives, toasted almonds, marinated fish, salads and cheese.
Winemaking Process: Barbeito Delvino Reserva Dry undergoes a meticulous winemaking process. Grapes were pressed in a pneumatic press. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%). Half of the grapes were harvested a week before they reached full maturation, thus obtaining higher acidity levels. This characteristic was reinforced by the use of continuous press in the winemaking process. This wine was aged in March 2009, by the traditional Canteiro method, under moderate temperatures, in old French oak casks. In March 2019, 2.986 bottles were filled, all individually numbered.
Barbeito is a revered Madeira producer known for its commitment to quality and innovation. The winemakers at Barbeito employ traditional methods and a deep understanding of the terroir to craft exceptional wines that reflect the unique essence of Madeira. With their expertise and passion, they continue to elevate the reputation of Madeira wines.
