Description

Momento Mori Bag of Bones Piquette 2022

Piquette is made from pomace, which is simply the skins, seeds, pulp and stems leftover after pressing grapes in the winemaking process. The remaining grape matter is steeped in water and rehydrated, allowing the fermentation process to kick off once more, before it’s eventually pressed off, then bottled or canned with a light, natural carbonation.

Grape Varietals & Region: Schioppettino, Fiano, Pinot Gris, Vermentino, Syrah blend.

Taste Profile: The Bag of Bones Piquette wine is a fresh, light-bodied, and effervescent beverage that is perfect for those looking for something new and exciting to try. With notes of tart red fruits, citrus, and a lightly herbal finish, this wine is an enjoyable, refreshing, and versatile drink that pairs well with a variety of foods. Perfect for any occasion, Momento Mori Bag of Bones Piquette wine is a must-try for wine lovers looking for a unique and exceptional drinking experience.

Winemaking Process: Made from the pressed grape skins left over from the wine-making process, piquette is an ancient style of wine that has recently been experiencing a revival. A fair proportion of whole bunches was included, and as most of the fruit is pressed very lightly and had a lot left to give. It has resulted in quite a “full’ and reasonably (by Piquette standards) complex drink that does not lack any interest.

It sits at about 5.7 % Alcohol so has enough substance to stand tall with Pet-Nats while still being very refreshing because of the low alcohol
