Description

Marques De Casa Concha Carmenere 2021

Grape Varietal & Origin: 100% Carmenere from Peumo Vineyard, D.O. Peumo, Cachapoal Valley. Deep alluvial silty-clay associated with the riverbed. The vines come from pre-phylloxera vine stock and are trellised to vertical shoot position. The soils are deep and have a top layer of clay that retains moisture, which helps control plant vigor and growth, and more importantly, allows the vines to remain active until late May, when Carmenere is harvested.

Taste Profile: Deep violet red. An intense, pure Carmenère, packed with blueberries and wild berries. Floral hints like violets and a pinch of roast red pepper. Fruity and flavourful with delicious acidity, sweet, friendly tannins and a long, creamy finish.

Winemaking Process: The wine is aged for 12 months; 96% in French oak barrels (29% new and 71% second- and third-use) and 4% in foudres.
