A cheeky Tokyo street photo turned into one of Burgenland's most drinkable reds.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Blaufränkisch. Judith Beck's winery sits near Lake Neusiedl, the warmest wine region in Austria — the lake acts as a natural storage heater, holding the day's sunshine and releasing it through the night. The fruit for this wine comes from vines growing in sandy loam and gravel in Judith's cooler, densely planted Schafleiten vineyard.
Taste Profile: Pinkish-red in the glass, with a burst of bright red fruit on the nose, oodles of sour cherry flavour, creamy floral notes and a mouth-cleansing acidity on the palate. Utterly delicious, filled with life and energy.
Winemaking Process: Manual harvest, whole-bunch maceration for 3 days in stainless steel, ambient fermentation with the estate's own yeasts, then ageing on fine lees in old 4,000L wooden vats for 6 months. No filtering or fining before bottling.
Winemaker: Judith Beck took full control of her family's Gols estate in 2004, after studying viticulture at Klosterneuburg and working at Cos d'Estournel in Bordeaux, Braida in Piedmont and Errazuriz in Chile. She began converting the estate to biodynamics in 2007, certified by respekt-BIODYN in 2010, and now farms indigenous Burgenland varieties — Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and St. Laurent among them — with minimal intervention: hand harvest, native yeasts, unfined and unfiltered, with little to no added sulfur.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
