Description

Cossart Gordon Good Company Full Rich N.V.

Cossart Gordon Good Company Full Rich is a delightful fortified wine that embodies the spirit of good company and indulgence. Crafted by Cossart Gordon, a renowned producer in the historic Madeira wine region, this Full Rich blend offers a rich and complex flavor profile that is perfect for savoring special moments.

Grape Varietals & Region: Cossart Gordon Good Company Full Rich is made from Tinta Negra Mole grown in the volcanic soils of Madeira, an island paradise off the coast of Portugal. Various quality vineyards grown at about 200m on the north of the island near São Vicente and on the south in Camara de Lobos.

Taste Profile: This Full Rich Madeira wine is a symphony of flavors that delights the senses. It offers luscious notes of caramel, toffee, dried fruits, and roasted nuts, creating a sweet and indulgent experience. The wine is beautifully balanced with a touch of acidity that adds freshness and complexity to the palate. It has a smooth and velvety texture that lingers on the finish, leaving a lasting impression.

Winemaking Process: Cossart Gordon Good Company Full Rich is made using traditional winemaking methods that have been perfected over centuries in Madeira. Cossart Gordon Good Company underwent fermentation on the skins with natural yeast at between 24°C - 26°C in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. After approximately 48 hours fortification with grape brandy takes place, arresting fermentation at the desired degree of sweetness. The vinified juice was transferred to 'estufa' tanks where the wine underwent a cyclic heating and cooling process between 45°C and 50°C over a period of 3 months. After 'estufagem' the wine was aged for 3 years in American oak casks and then underwent racking and fining before the blend was assembled and bottled.

Cossart Gordon is a prestigious winery with a rich history dating back to 1745, making it one of the oldest producers in Madeira. The winemakers at Cossart Gordon have mastered the art of crafting exceptional fortified wines, embracing the traditional methods and unique terroir of Madeira. They are dedicated to producing wines of exceptional quality and character, capturing the essence of the island in each bottle.
