Description

Peter Jakob Kuhn Lenchen Auslese 2017 375ML

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Riesling. The so-called Lene of the Pfingstbach once gave the Oestrich vineyard its name. The early morning mist from the flowing water at the foot of the vineyard always ensures early morning mist. This ensures the spread of botrytis, which is why mainly noble sweet Rieslings are produced from this site

Taste Profile: Light golden yellow. The fragrance is reminiscent of the Lenchen of the scent of meadow orchards at the time of harvest. Some apples and pears have already fallen and, bursting open, exude their fragrance. In addition, there is a hint of honey, but above all additionally something exotic from the as it were neighboring orangery. Cedrat lemon, kumquats and grapefruits can be found here next to scattered fruit, but certainly also some passion fruit that someone has rubbed over a stone slab.

With the demanding 2017 acidity, this Auslese shines on the palate. Both are absolutely in check. Thus, the lush fruit of pome fruit, fresh and dried stone fruit as well as the exotic hints remain in suspension. The body is infused with fine, almost soft and creamy acidity. There's a dip of salt and rock to this. This is wonderfully clear and elegant.
