Lagertal Holunder Goldtraminer 2020
Lagertal Holunder Goldtraminer stands out for its versatility and characteristic elderflower scent. An innovative, original and intriguing wine. Its elderflower nose leads into a fruity palate of fresh peach, passion fruit, citrus and honey flavours.
Fun Fact: Goldtraminer is an innovative grape variety obtained from the crossing of Gewürztraminer and Tuscan Trebbiano. This new variety was created in the mid-1950s by Rebo Rigotti, geneticist from Trentino, one of the most brilliant viticultural researchers at international level. These precious vines are rare precisely because they are destined for targeted harvests and an equally particular wine. Only a few hectares of Goldtraminer are planted worldwide, of which Lagtertal owns more than 1 hectare.
Another Fun Fact: Elderflower is called “Holunder" in German.
100% Goldtraminer. The fruit comes from Lagertal vineyards in Reviano, a small town in the Vallagrina. Lagertal extends over 2 hectares and is located about 500 meters above sea level.
Harvesting and winemaking is done by hand in full compliance with traditional methods. Manual harvest in mid-September. Light maceration in the press, then fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature. Ages for 6 months in steel with yeast contact.
Ageing potential: Keep until 2030.
