A collaboration between NFT collector BrownWorkGlov3 and BoundbyWine
We are excited to announce a new partnership that brings together our brand, BoundbyWine, and the renowned art enthusiast, Brownworkglove. Brownworkglove has long been passionate about digital art and wine, and this collaboration celebrates the fusion of these two art forms.
A word from BrownWorkGlove (Find him on socials here):
It seems like only yesterday that my heartfelt curiosity about wines began. Every tasting experience from each bottle unearthed a discovery, shepherded me back as a scholar of fermented grape juices. Perhaps the joy I’ve found through wines and my love for digital art has given me a better understanding of this thing called ‘passion.’ Simply put, it has helped me reflect on my devotion to these two categories of art: one classified as ‘winemaking art’ and the other as ‘visual art.’
Cellar Door Collection
At BoundbyWine, we have always sought to showcase exceptional wines and explore the boundaries of the wine world. Brownworkglove shares our enthusiasm and has curated a limited series of wines that we truly appreciate. What sets this collection apart is the integration of fine NFT art personally collected by Brownworkglove, further enhancing the experience for wine enthusiasts.
If you know us by now, you realize this curated series will involve wines many might have yet to hear about but still taste great made by phenom winemakers. And our humble curation would be conceived as the “Cellar Door Collection."
The Aurora Chateau is Our Pick
Our inaugural selection, the Adventure Edition of the Cellar Door Collection, features the remarkable Aurora Chateau. Limited to just 300 bottles, this red blend is crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, sourced from Aurora Winery, an indie winemaker in North Lebanon. While some may be unfamiliar with Aurora Winery and winemaking in Lebanon, we believe you are in for a delightful surprise.
Aurora Chateau is the result of a harmonious blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, grown in vineyards situated on terraces at 850 meters altitude in the village of Aurora. These vineyards employ eco-friendly farming techniques, such as dry farming and organic cattle fertilizers, while benefiting from the mild four seasons and clay-limestone soils of the region. The grapes are meticulously handpicked and undergo fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks before aging in French and American oak barrels.
The tasting experience of the Aurora Chateau is exceptional. Its dense purple hue hints at the wine's complexity, while the palate delights with vibrant aromas of blackberries, blueberries, and plums, complemented by notes of mocha, vanilla, and cocoa powder. With a medium to full-bodied profile, velvety tannins, and a long finish accented by hints of mint, this wine evokes the essence of a well-crafted Bordeaux blend with a distinctive flavor profile.
Digital NFT X Traditional Vino
In addition to his passion for wine, Brownworkglove was equally intrigued by the world of digital collectibles, especially in the realm of NFTs.
NFTs, or Non-Fungible Tokens, have revolutionized the concept of ownership and have become a medium for artists to tokenize their work. Brownworkglove, with a deep appreciation for both wine and digital art, had a vision to merge these two worlds.
Before NFT (Non-Fungible Token), he collected an assortment of things like art prints, watches, clothing, and everything in between. With his personal savings, he acquired his first mechanical Seiko 5 watch at age 11.
When blockchain technology and NFT appeared on the scene, they instantly clicked for his. So what’s with this NFT word that has been thrown around lately? Well, they are tokens used to represent ownership of unique items. NFTs allow creators to tokenize art, collectibles, or even real estate. Brownworkglove has collected a diversified range of digital collectibles for the past two years, from generative arts crafted with codings to digital illustrations minted on the blockchain.
Speaking of art, many of us, including himself, also treat winemaking and the wines themselves as an art form. But he likes to keep things straightforward by calling it “liquid art.” For a long while, he have wondered if it was possible to place his own NFTs on his wine bottles. Isn’t that the best of both worlds? The aesthetics of his treasured wine bear with his digital artwork from the blockchain. That’s like a classic brass band playing Daft Punk’s “One More Time” - as far as a traditional world harmonizing with modern digitalism.
Upon sharing this idea with us at BoundbyWine, we embarked on a journey to find a unique winery willing to participate in this innovative project. With the help of BoundbyWine, we connected with Aurora Winery, who embraced the idea wholeheartedly. To match the elegance of the red blend, the labels of the bottles feature premium paper materials adorned with exclusive NFT artwork, creating a visually striking ensemble.
We are proud to introduce two captivating NFT art pieces that adorn the bottles in the Adventure Edition: the "Jacket Boy" and the "Cabernet Girl." These illustrations, created by the talented artist Aaron Chang, perfectly capture the spirit of exploration and style associated with the world of wine. Each piece represents a unique persona, adding a touch of charm and sophistication to the overall wine experience.
Aaron Chang & Artistic Style
Allow us to provide more information about the artist involved. Aaron Chang is a highly skilled illustrator known for his expertise in "Ivy Style art." Ivy Style refers to a fashion trend popularized during the late 1950s, characterized by a clean-cut and less formal style of dress compared to previous generations. Aaron's fascination with this fashion is evident in his artwork, including the portrayal of the characters featured in the Adventure Edition.
When the BBRC studio announced their collaboration with Aaron to create a collection of NFTs, it inspired us to find an artwork that would perfectly embody the essence of BoundbyWine & Aaron Chang's artistic style. In a way, the characters are their Web3.0 persona, just as I adopt the pseudonym "BrownWorkGlov3" for my digital presence
Final Thoughts
This partnership between BoundbyWine and Brownworkglove marks the beginning of an exciting collaborative wine project. It embodies our shared belief in the fusion of art forms, cultures, and passions, brought together in a single bottle of crimson red liquid. Through the Cellar Door Collection, we invite like-minded individuals to join us on this journey of discovery and connection.
In Brownworkglove's own words,
So there you go. Through this Cellar Door Collection, I sincerely hope to share this intrinsic part of me with the rest of you. It perfectly showcases my love for art and NFTs, in tandem with my indulgence in exploring vino.
Iterating these two artistic paths enabled me to define what art could stand for. Blending the art of winemaking harmoniously with modern digital art pieces helped us bridge both spectrums of each artistries, culture, and the end-products into a single bottle of crimson red liquid. It can be seen, tasted, and smelled to absorb as it’s deemed a visible penchant.
I set my heart on bringing these two passions to the real world, allowing them to interact with real people around me, and tasting both cultures. Lastly, as this is the first but not the last collaborative wine project, I imagine the bonds that will draw and gather like-minded people together.
