Weingut Claus Preisinger "Kalkundkiesel" White 2023
Limestone and pebble, named for the soil the grapes grow in.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Weissburgunder, Grüner Veltliner, Muskateller and Welschriesling grown on the limestone and gravel soils ("Kalk und Kiesel") of Burgenland, Austria.
Taste Profile: Ripe citrus fruits, tropical notes and a backbone of minerality, with refreshing acidity, medium body and a smooth, layered texture.
Winemaking Process: Handpicked grapes undergo gentle pressing, with spontaneous fermentation from natural yeasts on the grape skins, then age in neutral oak barrels and amphorae.
Winemaker: Claus Preisinger was born in 1980 and grew up in Burgenland on the shores of Lake Neusiedl, where his father made a small amount of wine at home. After training at Klosterneuburg and working as assistant winemaker to Hans Nittnaus, he began making his own wine in 2002 and joined the Pannobile group as its youngest member in 2003. He converted the family estate to biodynamic farming in 2006 and now works from a striking modern winery in Gols, farming around 19 hectares of mostly native Austrian varieties.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
