A vineyard the Liechtenstein family has owned since before Columbus reached America — rebuilt from scratch after their main estate was lost in 1945.
Grape Varietals & Region: A pure expression of Ried Karlsberg, located above the village of Herrnbaumgarten and prized for centuries. Old vines on deep, meagre loess soils with a high limestone content bring structure, depth, finesse and a baroque aromaticity, shaped by the site's continental-Pannonian climate.
Taste Profile: Brilliant, rich yellow-green colour; citrus fruit with floral notes of the sunny south, ripe stone fruit and smoky flint on the nose, taut and lively. Multi-faceted with a broad, lengthy presence on the palate, accompanied by salty minerality and a fine sense of reduction. Great ageing potential.
Winemaking Process: A cuvée of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, made with a combination of spontaneous fermentation — a small proportion left on the skins — and gentle ageing in 500-litre casks, which complements the taut structure so typical of Ried Karlsberg, with its open aromatics and breadth of texture.
Winemaker: The Hofkellerei traces back to 1436, when the Liechtenstein family acquired the Wilfersdorf estate in Austria's Weinviertel — making it one of the oldest continuously wine-producing estates in Europe. Prince Johann Adam I expanded the family's vineyards further in 1712 with the acquisition of Vaduz. Until 1945, most of the family's vines were in Feldsberg, now Valtice in the Czech Republic; when that land was lost after the war, the Herrnbaumgarten and Hausbrunn sites in the Weinviertel became the foundation for rebuilding the winery from nothing. Winemaker Stefan Tscheppe now works alongside the family — including Princess Maria, a trained sommelier — across two estates: Domaine Wilfersdorf in Austria, known for Grüner Veltliner and Riesling on loess and limestone, and Domaine Vaduz in Liechtenstein, where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grow on the Rhine Valley's southwest-facing slopes. Both have been transitioning to organic farming since 2021.

We hate the disappointment of opening an off-drinking bottle of wine – as much as a kid seeing their scoop of ice cream fall to the ground (Yes, it hurts).
Simply contact us within 7 days of receiving your wines to let us know why you’re not satisfied and drop off the remaining unused wines back to us. The bottle will have to be at least 3/4 full and the same wine the bottle is in (duh).
Once we verify that the the wine was corked or damaged, we will process the refund.
