Description

Rippon Emma's Block Pinot Noir 2018

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir from the Wanaka sub-region of Central Otago, New Zealand. A unique parcel within Rippon, Emma’s Block faces eastward on the lakefront where ancient clay reefs run laterally through fine schist gravels. Emma’s Block is named after the great-great-great grandmother of the current generation of the Mills family, through whom the name entered into the family.

Taste Profile: One of the few New Zealand Pinots that benefit from decanting in their youth, Rippon's Mature Vine Pinot Noir packs in raspberries, hints of Asian five spice powder and delicate herbal notes behind a wall of crushed stone and firm but ripe tannins. It's medium to full-bodied, with a long, slightly chewy finish.

Don't be afraid to lose this one in the cellar for 5 or more years.
