Description

Barbeito Boal Old Reserve 10 Year Old (Medium Sweet)

Barbeito Boal Old Reserve 10 Year Old (Medium Sweet) is a captivating fortified wine that showcases the beauty and complexity of Boal grapes from Madeira. Crafted by Barbeito, a renowned Madeira wine producer with a rich heritage, this 10-year-old reserve offers a luscious and well-balanced taste profile that delights the senses.

Grape Varietals & Region: Barbeito Boal Old Reserve is made exclusively from the Boal grape variety, also known as Bual, grown in the volcanic soils of Madeira, Portugal. Grapes from various quality vineyards from Campanário, Estreito da Calheta and Prazeres.

Taste Profile: Bright gold color. This Medium Sweet Madeira wine enchants with its harmonious blend of sweetness and acidity. Scents of oily nuts, caramel, figs, woody and iodine touch. Smooth honeyed palate, caramelized nutty flavours. Excellent acidity in the spicy fresh finish. The medium level of sweetness is perfectly counterbalanced by a vibrant acidity, creating a captivating interplay of flavors. The wine offers a velvety mouthfeel and a lingering finish that leaves a delightful impression.

Winemaking Process: Barbeito Boal Old Reserve undergoes meticulous winemaking techniques to achieve its extraordinary quality. Grapes were pressed in a continuous press. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%). The juice is then fermented and fortified with grape brandy, retaining a touch of natural sweetness. The wine is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 10 years, allowing it to develop remarkable depth, complexity, and a rich bouquet of flavors.

Vinos Barbeito is a renowned Madeira wine producer known for its dedication to excellence and innovation.
