Blankbottle Nothing to Declare 2021
An avant grarde tribute to Southern Rhone & Portugese whites.
Named "Nothing to Declare", this wine pays tribute to the dedicated winemakers and viticulturists who defied trade embargoes and smuggled vine cuttings of exceptional varietals into South Africa. These smuggled cuttings have paved the way for a new generation of winemakers to take the industry to new heights. The name of this wine is a reference to the brave efforts of these winemakers who sometimes tied the cuttings to their legs and concealed them under their trousers as they walked through the airport customs as if they had 'nothing to declare'.
Grape Varietals & Region: 40% Marsanne, 26%Grenache Gris, 18% Viognier, 10% Grenache Blanc, 2% Sauvignon Blanc, 2% Semillon and 2% Weisser Riesling
