Description
Weinhof Szemes Imperial Ried Bodigraben Reserve Mittelburgenland DAC 2018
Weinhof Szemes Imperial Ried Bodigraben Reserve is a youthful yet powerful wine. Complex nose with layers of cranberry, sour cherry, pepper and spicy notes. The full-bodied and dry palate has fine tannins and a juicy acidity. Blueberry, blackberry and cranberry flavour with a hint of cocoa and blood oranges emerging in the long aftertaste.
100% Blaufränkisch. Only the best grapes from vines that grow in the mica schist soils of central Burgenland (Mittelburgenland) come into question for the Blaufränkisch Reserve.
Selective manual harvest for perfectly ripe fruit. Fermentation in 500L wooden barrels and then ageing on fine lees for 14 months. The wine then ages a few months in large barrels before it is drawn directly into the bottle.
