The Valley Pinot Noir 2020

This Pinot Noir by La Brune is all about the strawberries and cherries with some citrus notes and a fresh and pure profile. It is linear and tight with red fruits and a beautiful soft texture and a long and pure finish.

100% Pinor Noir from vines age 7 – 12 years. The vineyards are on grounds 280 – 350m above sea levels with planting density ranging from 4,000 to 10,000 vines/Ha. The soils are Bokkeveld shale with rocky Ferricrete sections.
30% whole bunch fermentation with 10 days of cold soaking ebfore fermentation. Spontaneous fermentation in small open fermenters, with one to two punch downs per day. Fermentation temperatures around 28 – 32°C. Soft pressing and settling for one week before going to barrels. It was aged in 228L, 300L, 500L ‘untoasted’ barrels. All 2nd, 3rd and 4th are filled. Oaks are from forest Pierre du Bourgogne. Barrels are custom-made for La Brune by Nico and Bruno Lorenzon.
