Description

Tenuta Buon Tempo Brunello di Montalcino

Tenuta Buon Tempo Brunello di Montalcino represents the perfect combination of power, finesse and long ageing potential. Deep garnet colour that turns brick red with age. Fruity fresh cherry and plum nose with notes of violet florals and Asian spices. Complex, dry and well-structured palate with a balanced acidity and evident tannins. Round flavours of ripe cherries and black plums that evolves into a liquorice, leather and tobacco spiced finish.

Ageing potential: Keep until 2029.

100% Sangiovese Grosso. From south-east facing vineyards in the extreme south of the Montalcino zone, surrounded by breathtaking countryside. The vineyards are spread over 800 metres, with an altitude difference of 170 meters between the highest and lowest vineyards. The soil is

well-draining and predominantly poor in organic substances, forcing the vines to look for water and nourishment deep down.

There’s a constant breeze blowing in from the coast and the presence of Monte Amiata to the south ensures protection from bad weather and vine diseases, making it easier for the estate to farm organically.

Harvesting the fruit by hand. Temperature-controlled vinification in stainless steel and fermentation with indigenous yeasts; 4 weeks’ maceration. 75% matures for 3 years in large (20 and 35 hl) Slavonian oak casks, the rest in 500L French oak tonneaux (2nd fill). Finally, the wine clears naturally by settling in stainless steel and is then left to rest for a minimum of 6 months in bottle before release onto the market.
