Strenua Yarra Chardonnay 2016

A captivating and savoury organic Chardonnay from an up-and-coming winery in Yarra Valley, Australia.

Beautifully pure and refined. This atypical Chardonnay offers a distinctive bouquet of kaffir lime, wet stone and minerals. The dry palate is characterised by a fresh acidity, mineral backbone and generous flavours of zesty lime and lemon citrus.
Made with fruit sourced from a vineyard in Panton Hill, on the western side of Yarra Valley, that is farmed with organic and biodynamic principles. The vines are 22 years old and the soils are a little leaner and dustier than other vineyards in the area. The grapes are handpicked and fermented with wild yeasts. Whole bunch pressed directly into old 300 litre and 225 litre barrels for a natural primary and malolactic fermentation. It then ages on full lees for 6 months. No fining or filtration. Completely natural with nothing added along the way.
