Remo Farina Valpolicella Ripasso 2018
What a crowd pleaser! Remo Farina Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso 2018 is a mouthful though. Remo Farina Valpolicella Ripasso is a bright ruby coloured Venetian red. It has a large bouquet of ripe red fruits, pepper and notes of leather and licorice. The palate is dry and balanced with velvety tannins. It has full and enveloping mouth feel that is solid and vigorous. Remo Farina Valpolicella Ripasso is a crowd-pleaser with great taste and smell enhanced through aging in Slavonian oak barrels, subsequent refinement in the bottle
A meticulous blend of 50% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 15% Corvinone, 10% Oseleta and 5% Molinara.
Hills of San Pietro in Cariano and Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella. A distinctive style of wine from Valpolicella in the Veneto, often referred to as the poor man's Amarone. Rather than making wine from dried grapes, as they do Amarone, Rispasso uses an ancient technique where a wine is refermented with the skins and pips of pressed Amarone or Recioto, adding depth and character. Remo Farina's is then aged in 90% Slavonian oak barrels and 10% French and American oak for six months. The resulting wine is leathery and earthy, with plum and cherry fruit, ginger and peppery spice, and a subtle undercurrent of anise. A great value!
