Description
Pio Cesare Moscato d'Asti 2020
Golden yellow in colour with fine bubbles for a gentle fizz. This semi-sweet sparkling wine is a cascade of honey, ripe fruit and honeysuckle floral aromas. White peach and apricot flavours dominates the palate. With hints of lychee, citrus and honey blended in. The fruity sweetness is pleasantly balanced with fresh acidity and lightness to create a classic and traditional well-structured frizzante.
The grapes for this wine come from old vines in selected vineyards in Santa Vittoria d'Alba, Neviglie and Trezzo Tinella. The grapes are hand-picked and softly pressed. The juice is partially cold fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures and under pressure with extensive lees contact. After partial fermentation, the wine is immediately bottled and aged for only a short period of time.
One of Italy's most renowned wine producers, Pio Cesare was founded in 1881. The family-owned winery is now in its fifth generation and continues to produce exceptional wines in line with its founder's philosophies. A key feature of Pio Cesare is that its wines are aged in an ancient cellar with main walls dating back to the Roman period. The cellar’s constant temperatures and appropriate humidity provide optimal conditions for ageing and are crucial to ensuring the quality and style of Pio Cesare's wines.
