Description
Philipponnat Royale Réserve Brut
Philipponnat Royale Réserve Brut is the purest expression of the House’s style. Offering a superb balance between structure, persistence and vinosity, this cuvée reveals the essential character of the Mareuil-sur-Ay terroir (where mainly Pinot Noir grapes are grown, which is predominant in the blend).
Can we feel like Leonardo DiCaprio for a minute.

The Philipponnat Royale Reserve Brut Champagne has a deep gold colour with amber glints. Delicate froth, lively and lingering. The first nose reveals vine blossom, linden and fresh, lightly toasted bread. After breathing, aromas of summer berries, citrus fruit and honey develop. Fine vinous attack on the palate, fruity (redcurrant, raspberry, ripe grape) and full-bodied, generous and long. Light notes of biscuit and freshly baked bread on the finish.
After three years aging on lees, Royale Réserve Brut is pleasantly mature whilst losing nothing of its freshness. An ideal aperitif wine. Its vinosity enhances white meat, charcuterie and fish.
Blend: 65% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier
"A very attractive and quite flavorful style with vibrant citrus and peachy stone fruit, leading to a palate that carries gently toasted cashews and quite a vibrant, fleshy mid-palate. Drink now."
"The Philipponnat Royale Réserve Brut Champagne is one of the wine trade best-kept secrets—for the time being. This is one of the finest Champagnes in the marketplace. Its aromas and flavors of ripe apples and mineral are pure and bright. Pair its fresh and complex nuances with a charcuterie tray of pâtés, jumbo prawns, and mild cheeses. (Tasted: December 21, 2018, San Francisco, CA)" - Wilfred Wong, wine.com

"Rather than the structural tension of the non-dosé version (also recommended here), this wine offers voluptuous texture, the dosage pointing up toasty brioche scents and notes of beeswax. It’s sophisticated and luxurious."
