Description
Grattamacco Vermentino "Bianco Bolgheri" DOC 2016
Fun Fact: Grattamacco Estate was the first in the area to understand the incredible potential of Vermentino. The Vermentino grape is now well-loved and popular in many Tuscan coastal areas.
Straw yellow with green highlights. A rich white wine that is fresh and juicy but is also a creamy melt. The bouquet is a burst of pink grapefruit, lime and scents of wildflowers. The citrus and mineral flavoured palate reveals hints of hazelnut, rosemary and sea salt. An elegant and rare Bolgheri Bianco for special occasions.
Produced from a vineyard 100 metres above sea level with calcareous and clay soils. The average age of the vines is 20 years. The temperate Mediterranean climate and frequent sea breezes aid the organic cultivation of the vineyard. Fermentation occurs with 50% in stainless steel and 50% in used French oak barriques, where the wine ages for 8 months with frequent stirring of settled lees. The wine is then blended and refined in bottle.
