Description
Gabriëlskloof Estate Chenin Blanc 2019
Light yellow honey colour. Refreshing, dry, crisp and easy to drink. The nose opens with an overflow of green apples, followed by layers of quince, zesty lime citrus, melting honey and wet stone. There's a tropical something in this wine too, hinting at subtle influences of sweet pineapple and melon. The elegant palate has a beautiful balance, freshness and a delightful texture.
The 2019 Chenin Blanc was naturally fermented in 85% old barrels with minimal intervention, with the remainder undergoing fermentation in steel tanks. Best enjoyed over the next five years.
Gabriëlskloof winery is in the Bot River ward, part of the greater Walker Bay region. Their winemaking philosophy is one of minimal intervention to give prominence to and reflect the terroir of the vineyards. This Chenin Blanc is the newest addition Gabriëlskloof Estate Range, which offers a selection of boutique-style wines that always over-deliver on quality and value.
