Description
Faiveley Vosne-Romanée 2014
Faiveley Vosne-Romanée has a beautifully intense ruby-red colour. Elegant, pure nose unveiling light woody and red fruity aromas. A supple and fruity attack on the medium-bodied palate, which reveals fine tannins, a lively acidity and remarkable balance. Red cherry tart, strawberry, raspberry and currant flavours with vanilla spice, rose petal and subtle mineral accents. Good length and closes with a firm finish.
100% Pinot Noir. The fruit comes from multiple plots throughout the Vosne-Romanée appellation. Soils are primarily chalky marl and exposure is east/ southeast.
The grapes go through harvesting and sorting by hand. Following a 18–20 day maceration, the must undergoes primary fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and wooden vats. Next is the blending of the cuvées. The young wine then ages in 30% lightly toasted new oak barrels for 14 to 16 months.
Cellaring potential: Drink now or cellar for 15 years from vintage.
