Clos de Los Siete 2018

Close de Los Siete 2017 grape varietals: 52% Malbec, 21% Merlot, 15% Syrah, 7% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc.
Dense red colour with a bluish reflection. A powerful and fleshy fruity red wine. Bouquet of smashed dark berry fruits and subtle nuances of chocolate, tobacco and leathery smoke. The fresh palate offers ripe and silky tannins, a well-balanced structure and creamy mouthfeel. Charming and elegant in style, black plum and dark berry fruit flavours with a hint of oak spice and a long chocolate finish.

Clos de los Siete is the result of a venture undertaken by a group of French winegrowers. It is located at the foot of the Andes mountain range, in the heart of the Uco Valley. The vineyards spread across 850 hectares at an altitude of 1,000-1,200 metres above sea level. Favourable soils of pebbles, sand and clay bestow great freshness to the wine. The climate is dry with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. The vines have a beneficial south/south-west orientation, allowing them to soak up the sunshine whatever the season. This enables the grapes to ripen beautifully and provide the wine with great tannins.
After a manual harvesting, the grapes go through two rounds of hand-sorting before and after destemming. Cold pre-fermentation maceration. Pumping over one and a half times the volume at the beginning of fermentation, half the volume at the end of fermentation. Ageing for 11 months with 70% in oak barrels (1/3 new French oak barrels, 1/3 in one year old barrel, 1/3 two years old) and 30% in vats.
Drink until 2026.
Top Tip: Decant for two hours before serving!

A very refined, creamy wine, showing blackberries and blueberries with chocolate and light hazelnut notes. Medium to full body. The fine tannins are polished and creamy and the beautiful, reserved finish goes on for a really long time. Wow! Best ever, because of its length and beauty. One for the palate or the cellar.

Remarkable intensity of black fruit, spice and mocha, this elegant, single-vineyard Malbec-based blend by noted Bordeaux-based consultant Michel Rolland showcases integrated tannins, a round texture and persistent freshness. High-elevation vineyards (more than 1,100m), and notable diurnal temperature swings add to the concentration, aromatic lift and lively acidity.
Produced by the much-respected consulting winemaker Michel Rolland, this is a medium-bodied, lush and savoury mostly Malbec with some Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Creamy on the palate with ripe blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate and toasty nut flavours finishing long. Tannins are velvety. Pour with a juicy rib eye steak.

Deep, rich flavors of roasted cherry, plum tart and dried savory herbs are supported by firm acidity and tannins. Features a tensile frame, with slate accents midpalate. Dusty graphite notes show on the finish. Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2024. 650,000 cases made, 22,400 cases imported. From Argentina
