Backsberg Pinotage 2018

Backsberg’s philosophy remains that of providing pleasure and enjoyment to a broad range of wine lovers by producing wines not only with structure and finesse, but also with a high level of “drinkability”. To put it simply, if you find their wines easy to drink then they are achieving what they want.
Pinotage is a lovely easy drinking style – lively and fresh, with lashings of fruit and a hint of herbs. The perfect night cap
The Western Cape, including Paarl, provides some of South Africa’s finest Pinotage (it’s signature grape variety), and is where Backsberg strives to capture its classic characteristics through limited yields and careful grape selection.
Ripe cherry, coffee bean and sweet strawberry flavors are complimented by subtle undertones of dried herbs. This Pinotage has a juicy mouth-feel with supple, sweet tannins.
Their thick and tannic skin color extracted from the grapes Pinotage in the early days of fermentation. Spends 9 months in neutral French oak barrels. With flavors of young berry and mulberry fruit this wine is fresh with a supple texture.
