Description
Ascheri Nebbiolo d'Alba "San Giacomo" DOC 2017
Mon chéri, you're delightfully charming and taste of tart cherries!Made with 100% Nebbiolo grapes, its Ruby red in colour with garnet highlights. The elegant bouquet is spicy but intertwined with floral notes of violets and roses. Tart cherries, red fruit, oak and light tobacco flavours emerge on the palate. There's a hint of truffle there for an extra something. Soft and delightful with the perfect balance of juicy acidity, velvety tannins and a long finish.
Sourced from the La Morra and Verduno Estate situated in the western part of the Barolo area, where it is located partly in the municipality of La Morra and partly in the municipality of Verduno. Characterised by the planting of traditional varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, in South-West and South-East facing slopes at an altitude of 350 m above sea level. The grapes are hand-picked and gently pressed. Fermentation in temperature regulated stainless steel vats for about 9 days at 28°C. Aged for a year in stainless steel and then 4 months in oak barrels.
This is one for the cellar as it'll just get better with age (8–10 years evolution).
