Description
Artemis Karamolegos "34" Assyrtiko 2020
Artemis Karamolegos "34" Assyrtiko is a powerful white and exceptional example of Assyrtiko's huge potential. Complex aromas of preserved lemon, apricots, sea air and a hint of wild herbs. The full-bodied palate has a bone dry crispness balancing its creamy texture, mouth-filling mineral tension and a vibrant acidity.
Fun Fact: The wine is named after the 34 centuries of winemaking tradition on the island.
100% Assyrtiko. The fruit comes from 120-years-old vines from the villages of Pirgos, Exo Gonia, Fira, Aktotiri and Megalochori. The vines grow in Santorini's arid-dry soil of volcanic origin and sandy composition.
Cold soak on skins. The free-run juice goes through fermentation with selected and indigenous yeasts, 10% in barrels. The wine ages on lees for at least 5 months with frequent lees stirring.
