Description
Anatolikos Vineyards Fine Assyrtiko 2021
Anatolikos Vineyards Fine Assyrtiko is super fine. Blonde colour with golden hues. Intense, complex bouquet of orange citrus, peach, honeycomb, vanilla and floral hints of orange blossom, chamomile and honeysuckle. The full-bodied palate has a dense structure and oily mouthfeel perfectly balanced by a refreshing acidity. Sweet yellow peach and orange citrus flavours are in perfect harmony with a discreet barrel presence via elegant hints of vanilla, hazelnut and butter. Persistent honey aftertaste.
100% Assyrtiko. The fruit comes from vineyards in the village Avdira of Thrace, Greece. The vines grow in sandy hills with stony subsoil, 3 km from the sea. Mediterranean climate with east winds and temperatures between 13–15°C.
Harvesting the fruit by hand in late September. Pre-fermentation cold extraction and long fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. Maturation on lees for 6 months in French oak barrels. No filtering before bottling.
Ageing potential: 5 years. You can drink it now but it will get better with age!
