Allegrini La Grola Veronese IGT 2017
Allegrini La Grola Veronese grape varietals: 90% Corvina Veronese and 10% Oseleta.Ruby red colour. An intense nose of red currant and plum with sweet vanilla and liquorice spice. Faint nuances of herbs and balsamic in the bouquet. The elegant and harmonious palate is pleasantly tannic. Flavours of red plum, cherry and currant with hints of tobacco, coffee and oak spice. A wine that will continue to evolve positively for a decade.
Top Tip: Decant for an hour before serving!
La Grola was born from vineyards in the valley of Sant'Ambrogio, Verona. The vineyard is located at an altitude of 300 meters. It has a south-eastern exposure, clay and limestone soils, and vines with an average age of 25 years. After hand-picking, the Corvina and Oseleta grapes go through destemming and soft crushing.Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 20–28°C for about 15 days. After the malolactic fermentation in barrique, the wine ages for 16 months in second passage French oak barrels and for a further 10 months in bottle.
