We love, love, love this Albarino! A fresh, elegant and captivating young wine, it’s a definite treat for lovers of elegant aromatic whites. The fact that it is gorgeous with practically any appetiser, fresh cheeses, sushi or sashimi is also a big plus!

Bright straw-yellow colour with green hues. An intense nose of citrus rinds, and ripe stone fruit such as peach, apples and pears, with a mineral background. Delicious and juicy in the mouth, with great structure and breadth. Closes with a fresh grapefruit and lemon citrus finish.

An impressive example of Spain’s iconic white varieties, from the sea-swept Rías Baixas region. Lagar de Cervera Albariño is a white wine from D.O. Rías Baixas produced by the winery Lagar de Fornelos, from the group La Rioja Alta. Bodega Lagar de Fornelos is a small but welcoming winery that was acquired by La Rioja Alta in 1988. In a search for excellence in white wines, La Rioja Alta found what it was looking for on the Atlantic shores, in the heart of Rías Baixas. Today, 25 years after their arrival in Galicia, Lagar de Fornelos has completely been reshaped. Today it is equipped with the most modern, meticulous techniques there are right now, which allows them to achieve their main goal: producing the best Lagar de Cervera Albariño wine possible, harvest after harvest.

100% Albariño grapes from their vineyards in O Rosal and Cambados (D.O. Rías Baixas). The grapes were harvested manually and placed in 20kg tubs, then taken to the winery using refrigerated transportation. At the winery, the fruit was carefully sorted and the best clusters destemmed. The grapes were then cooled to 10°C and macerated for 10 hours. After this, the must was separated in membrane presses, under inert atmosphere to prevent oxidation. After decanting, the clean must was fermented at 15°C. For this vintage, malolactic fermentation took place in 10% of the tanks. The wine was kept on the lees until bottling, with periodic punch downs to keep them in suspension and provide the wine with complexity.
