Diez Siglos Verdejo 2018
The Diez Siglos range represents the true roots of the winery’s tradition and culmination of their work in the field. They firmly believe that who they are now is based on the experience that previous generations have passed on to them, their true roots. They strive to achieve excellence every day, with the firm objective of obtaining the best Verdejo from the Denominación de Origen Rueda.
Tangerine oil, white peaches, fresh grass, fennel and aniseed. Those are the intense aromas wafting from a glass of this bright and pure white. Pale yellow colour with a delicate green tint. The aromas follow through to a round and complex palate with flavours of grapefruit and tangerine citrus, white peach, stone fruit and fresh grass. Refreshing and balanced with a voluminous mouthfeel, crunchy acidity and a soft lingering finish.
Diez Siglos vineyards are located in the highlands of northern Rueda, where they experience long cold winters and very hot summers. The excellent quality Verdejo grapes are sourced from re-grafted old bush vines, planted on gravel soils. The grapes are harvested at night to ensure they are cool and in optimal condition when they reach the winery. The grapes undergo a cold maceration for several hours before they are fermented for 22 days at 14 ºC. Aged on fine lees for 4 months before bottling.
