DI Majo Norante Biferno Rosso “Ramitello” DOC 2013
A blend of 80% Montepulciano & 20% Aglianico, this wine is made from a selection of the best Montepulciano and Aglianico grapes grown in the Ramitello vineyard. After fermentation in stainless steel, the wine ages in a combination of stainless steel tanks and barriques for eighteen months. The final wine shows firm structure yet ripe, accessible fruit.
Deep ruby-red in color, Ramitello offers aromas of plums, forest fruits, dark chocolate, leather, and licorice. On the palate, smooth and velvety body expressing body and fullness with an intriguing finish. This red is good with rich based dishes even with white meat! We paired it with baked bone marrow & toast for entrée followed by a gorgeous Tomahawk. Between the 4 of us, there wasn’t a drop left in that bottle. This wine is ready to taste now, perfectly splendid. Although it posses qualities allowing it to evolve and refine over time- properly preserved of course
