Casa Rojo Maquinon
Casa Rojo Maquinon is born in vineyards located in the small village of Falset, in the heart of Priorat Catalonia. This bottle is produced exclusively with Garnacha grapes, harvested only by hand during the month of September.
The power of Priorat in a wine and a grape, the Garnacha negre, talks about this land, and it is clearly defined by its terroir: the slate (llicorella). Coming from young vineyards of 10 years old, located on different terraces of soils poor in organic matter, we find the best biodynamic vineyard for our Maquinon.
It is characterized by a cherry red color, with purple hues. The nose opens with intense hints of ripe red berries. On the palate it is round and pleasantly full-bodied, with a balanced acidity and an aftertaste of ripe fruit.
The selection table at the entrance of the winery ensures maximum quality, and after a delicate de-stemming, the grapes enter the stainless steel tanks where fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 24ºC. Aging is in French oak barrels for five months. The first two months malolactic fermentation takes place. The grapes of Casa Rojo wines are harvested and processed with the utmost respect for the natural qualities of the varieties, expressing the true essence of the terroir of origin.
Also, how cute is the bottle!
