Description

Blankbottle Praus 2021

A wine born out of the COVID-19 lockdown, with the goal of telling a story of the hardships of South African winemakers, being the only country in the world that were not allowed to export wine.

Grape Varietals & Region: 80% Botrivier Shiraz, 5% Stellenbosch Pinotage and 15% Breedekloof pinotage.

Taste Profile: This wine is a fusion of Syrah and Pinotage, offering a light and peppery experience complemented by savory tannins, and notes of clove and white pepper. It also boasts a subtle twist of orange zest and a balanced finish.

Winemaking Process: After being aged for 18 months in neutral French oak barrels, Praus was initially created exclusively for a UK-based client during South Africa's Covid pandemic alcohol bans. The label depicts tied arms, symbolizing the challenges winemakers faced during this period.
