Description

Marco de Bartoli Sole e Vento 2021

Marco de Bartoli Sole e Vento combines two grape varieties and two noble wine-producing areas in a single wine of balance and pleasure. Straw yellow colour. Intense and aromatic nose of white ripe fruit and minerality. Soft and velvety palate with a great minerality and flavours ranging from dried apricots to ripe peaches and candied lemon. Sweet and delicate hints on the finish.

Ageing potential: 5–10 years from vintage.

Blend of 30% Grillo and 70% Zibibbo. The fruit comes from two territories characterised by sun and wind: Marsala and Pantelleria. The vineyard in the island of Pantelleria sits at 350 metres altitude on terraced slopes with volcanic soils and has vines over 30 years old. The vineyard in Contrada Samperi, Marsala, has level land and sandy loam soils.

Careful manual selection of the clusters and destemming. Gentle pressing and maceration at controlled temperatures for approximately 24 hours. After the soft pressing, the must decants at low temperature for 48 hours. The limpid run starts fermenting with wild yeasts at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. 7 months in stainless steel vats.
